It's me Larsen Fashionista…aka Larsen Thompson.  I used to have 10,000 of you following my Instagram posts about fashion.   Besides loving fashion, I love to dance, act, and model.   I  decided to create this blog to share with you ideas and things I love about the fashion industry.   Please give me suggestions for upcoming blogs.  Looking forward to getting to know you all and exploring this amazing fashion world together.

Art Loves Fashion Red Carpet

Last night I attended the Art Love Fashion Show. It was a great event for Artistix Jeans. Jazmin Whitley, fashion editor for Nationalist Magazine www.nationalistmagazine.com styled me for this event. I loved this black sequined dress paired with black chunky heels.  The back of the dress was uniquely designed which made a fashion statement. I felt like it was more than a simple black dress and it matched the style I needed for this  LA Fashion night out.

Lauren Alexandra Beanies and More….

I love when I find companies that have my fashion style. Recently, I found a NY clothing brand that caught my attention. Lauren Alexandra beanies and tees are fun and whimsical. I first noticed this company when one of my favorite models Ireland Baldwin was wearing one of their beanies. The company has unique items . I recently added to my closet the Queen beanie and the adorable Moon Tee "As Bright As The Moon Is, We All Have A Dark Side".  I like t-shirts that express something I would say to the world and the tees are great quality and have unique quotes. Recently, I wore my new tee with a colorful flannel and felt very chic. I'm back telling you about another amazing find at www.alwaysagainusa.com.   The tees are  screen printed by hand so you have the feeling the shirt was made just for you.  I love their unique sayings and the way the writing appears on the tees.  This is a Southern California company that exudes fashion and gives you a boutique feel. You may have seen my friend Jordyn Jones wearing the "I Woke Up Like This" sweater. Also, Mahogany Lox wearing the "West Coast Girls" tee .  The  price points are fab and the quality is amazing … so soft and comfy. Also, for all those asking me wear I get my chokers ?  Always Again USA has them . I love mixing chokers on fun fashion days.

Gifting Suite Honoring MTV Movie Awards

Taylor Hatala and I were invited to the gifting suite honoring the MTV Movie Awards.   It was an epic event and we got to see a number of friends.   I love day events cause you can make the fashion  dressy, but more casual.  Fashion is the key to a Red Carpet Event and for this event I styled myself.   I wore an  LF Stores black jumpsuit with lace sleeves www.lfstores.com and paired it with my Jeffrey Campbell boots www.jeffreycampbellshoes.com. Taylor wore some amazing  leather shorts with a kimona  blouse.  We felt fashion ready and had a wonderful time.  It was great seeing friends, meeting celebrities,  and receiving so many amazing gifts.  My two favorite companies  were Go Go Brush and Pj57 Jeweley.

Go Go Brush is located in Anchorage Alaska and you can find them at www.gogobrush.com . This company offers you a colorful personalized toothbrush and when you SUBSCRIBE you receive a new toothbrush every three months.   This company was started by a dentist and it was so much fun meeting the family who are promoting the product.  I am SUBSCRIBING this week and can't wait to get my personalized tooth brush.

My next favorite gift was handmade jewelry by owner Shanra Kehl.  You can visit this company at www.pj57jewelry.com.  The  jewelry is very hip and  the company is donating 25 percent to breast cancer.  I chose a bracelet and found out that the bracelet stones are about positivity. The bracelet is to remind you to love who your are and where you are heading.  The necklace I chose is to remind yourself that you need to take care of yourself before you can help others.  I love the concept of the company and love the owner's passion. Can't wait to show you my new hip pieces.

It was a very fun filled event and loved seeing friends, meeting new celebrities, and talking to new innovative companies. See ya next year MTV.

Bonnie Young Official

I have a new favorite American designer and her name is Bonnie Young.
She was a former executive for Donna Karan and began her amazing  line in 2006.    She designs whimsical, high couture pieces.   Her designs are unique and have a European flair.  Sizes range from infant to size 16.

I loved modeling the blue lace jumpsuit for Poster Child Magazine.  It  is one of my favorite pieces from her collection. I love the fact that you can make this jumpsuit dressy or wear it more casual. Her designs take street chic to a new level.

Larsen Thompson Says ShopAkira.com

Taylor Hatala and I recently performed in Chicago so it was a great surprise when asked by owners John Cotay and Erikka Wang of Akira to visit their warehouse and model some of their amazing clothes.
 
Akira opened their first store in 2002 in trendy Wicker Park.  What was then a single storefront has now be transformed into more than 18 locations with a trendsetting fashion website www.shopakira.com .
 
You have to love the amazing fashion vibe atmosphere when you visit their stores and the customer service is great.  You actually  feel like you have walked into a candy store filled with your favorite brands. The walls are covered in polaroid pictures of customers in their new clothes.  The music playing puts you in a shopping vibe and they definitely understand teenage fashion.  You can shop all different styles at Akira including  dresses, accessories, and shoes. The stores are filled with brands such as For Love and Lemmons, Vintage Havana, Unif, and Jeffrey Campbell shoes.


My favorite finds were a pair of red vintage New Balance running shoes and I love my new Vintage Havana shirt with my new ripped jeans . Their selection of amazing denim is another added bonus . Akira has taken over the Chicago fashion district and has so many stores for you to visit with amazing prices.
 
Taylor and I did a giveaway for their amazing website while in Chicago and took advantage of the amazing shopping experience they offer. If you can't visit Chicago bring Chicago to you . The Cobra Shop

I have a secret and I am sharing it with you ….. can you hear me scream, "vintage Vintage VINTAGE".  Well, it's  here to stay whether it's an old Starwars R2d2 vintage backpack or a one of a kind  item from decades past.  The Cobra Shop owned by Mark Hunter carrys vintage items from his adventures around the world.  The new cobra custom items are unique and have been made by the Cobra Snake team in Los Angeles.   I love my new Cobra Snake white hoodie and have added this comfy sweatshirt to my closet.


All  items sold at  The Cobra Shop have been preloved so they may have some flaws or imperfections.  I picked up a crop top from the "Camp Beverly Hills " era and a couple of  Wildfox pieces.  Every item in this fashion filled store is unique and one of a kind.  I love the accessories, tattoo chokers, and alien t-shirts. 

I love my vintage 70's button down and my funky white platforms. Yes., the platform shoe fad from the 70's is back and I am embracing these shoes with new updated fashion trends.  The "sunnies" from Crapeyewear make you feel old hollywood and they have a great selection to add to your sunglass collection.

I love dance, but style  as a dancer is unique for everyone.  I like to find things that represent me while I dance . I recently had the chance to model Bobby Newberry's new Tees "I AM." Larsen Thompson | Valfre Shell Phone Launch Party

On June 13th, Valfre  celebrated the launch of The Shell Phone with a mermaid themed Art Show and Pop Up Shop in downtown LA at HNYPT.   It was a fun night with Lexee Smith and Jordyn Taylor.  The event featured a DJ,  live paintings by Valfre, and fun filled star freckles.  Rony's Photo Booth, a company that specializes in the fashion , nightlife, and music industries  was a big hit www.ronysphotobooth.com.

I worked with Stylist Cherokee Neas for this event.  I wanted my outfit to be fun and to have a mermaid feel.  I chose a vintage skirt and faux wrap, and finished the outfit with my Jeffrey Campbell shoes  www.jeffreycampbell.com.

I recently received a tee from Bullies Reality . What better way to spread a message than to wear it . Tony Zazza and Ashley Jay both share a compassion to end bullying and have created Bullies Reality. The host,  Tony Zazza  shares real stories of kids in our country who are being held back from being the person they were meant to be.  They believe that addressing openly each problem  bullies and their victims face that they can make a real change in each life and community.

Our society has created a norm of what a beautiful person should look like and how they should act.
There is beauty in every soul that walks this earth, we just have to open our minds and hearts to see it.
Social media has created a platform for people  to hide behind a computer and say horrible things. I want my instagram to be filled with inspiration and of ways we can look at the world differently.  My goal each day is to find the beauty inside someone and go against the cultural norms . When I do this my heart is filled with happiness.  God has created  us all for a purpose and reason.  Now that is beautiful!

#Inmyskiniwin takes over NYFW- Shaun Ross

The  #inmyskiniwin Campaign started by Shaun Ross is trending on social media.  This power model has starred in many fashion campaigns and appeared in music videos for Beyone and Katy Perry.  He just debuted  his new collection at  NYFW and he is not going away any time soon.  As a teen, he  has become a role model for me and many others that have different skin colors which make them targets for harassing and bullying .

Shaun  is making  changes in the way beauty is defined in our society . The #inmyskiniwin hash tag  has almost 10,000 posts on instagram alone.  Shaun says, "If one feels confident when looking in the mirror, then the negative words of others don't sting as much. Beauty is you and what you make from your confidence in your  own perfectly imperfect body." Now these are powerful words and so  to all you teens out there take notice.
